Alloy Wheel Restoration Cost in Valencia: Real 2026 Prices
What a full alloy wheel restoration really costs in Valencia in 2026, exactly what is included at each stage, and how to tell whether your wheels are worth saving.
WhatsApp for a Free QuoteIf your alloys are scuffed, oxidised or simply looking tired, the obvious question is whether it is worth restoring them or just buying replacements. It is the question we are asked most often at The Wheel Lab, our wheel refurbishment workshop in Alaquàs, just outside Valencia. The honest answer is that restoration almost always wins on cost — and this guide explains exactly why, what each service costs in 2026, and what pushes the final figure up or down.
The prices below are our genuine workshop rates, the kind you would expect from a specialist rather than a generic body shop or a DIY rattle-can job. You are paying for a professional refurbishment that brings your wheels back to factory condition, or better.
What "full restoration" actually means
A full alloy wheel restoration is not a quick respray. It is a complete process: the tyre is demounted, the old coating is stripped back, any kerb damage or corrosion is repaired, the surface is prepared, and then primer, colour and a UV-resistant lacquer are applied before the wheel is remounted and balanced. A full restoration at The Wheel Lab starts at €150 per wheel and covers that entire sequence — the result is a wheel that looks and protects like it did when it left the factory.
What drives the price of restoring alloy wheels
Before talking numbers, it helps to understand the variables. Refurbishing a 17-inch wheel with a light scuff is a very different job to rescuing a 21-inch wheel with a flattened lip and badly oxidised lacquer.
Wheel size
Diameter and width have a direct effect on cost. A 16" or 17" wheel needs less material, less machine time and less labour than a 20", 21" or 22". As a rough rule, every couple of inches of extra diameter can add 15–25% to the price of a given service.
Type and severity of damage
A light scuff on the rim is a minor job. A structural deformation from a kerb strike, deep corrosion under the paint, or a crack in the alloy needs welding and repair work before any cosmetic finish goes on. That is why a proper diagnosis always comes first.
The finish you choose
This is the single biggest factor. The finish defines both the technical process and the price, from a standard painted finish through to a mirror polish or a CNC diamond-cut face. The choice changes the cost meaningfully — more on each below.
Condition and preparation work
A structurally sound wheel that only needs its finish refreshed is cheaper than one that needs stripping back, material repair and several coats. Surface preparation is invisible in the final result but it is what makes a restoration last, so it is never skipped.
Number of wheels
A full set of four usually works out cheaper per wheel than bringing in a single one, because we optimise the prep, the paint mixing and the curing across the whole set in one run.
2026 prices by service
- Wheel repair (kerb damage) — €85 per wheel. Repairs scuffs, scrapes and lip damage that have not compromised the structure of the wheel.
- Painting / colour change — €100 per wheel. A complete single-colour refinish on our robotic painting line: strip, prep, primer, colour and lacquer.
- Diamond cut (CNC lathe) — €115 per wheel. The machined, two-tone factory finish, recreated on our own CNC lathe.
- Buckled wheel straightening — €80 per wheel. For wheels deformed by potholes or kerbs, where the structure still allows a safe repair.
- Full restoration — from €150 per wheel. The complete refurbishment combining repair, prep and finish from scratch.
- Mount and balance — €15 per wheel. Refitting the tyre and balancing after the work is done.
Why a CNC lathe matters for restoration
We are the only workshop in the Valencia area with our own CNC diamond-cutting lathe on site. That matters for two reasons. First, it means diamond-cut wheels — the machined silver-and-painted finish fitted to many Audi, BMW, Mercedes and Range Rover models — can be restored to their original look rather than simply painted over, which is what a body shop without a lathe would have to do. Second, having the whole process under one roof keeps turnaround times short, with no third parties involved. Every restoration carries our 12-month guarantee.
Is restoration worth it versus buying new?
In the vast majority of cases, yes. A single replacement OEM alloy for a premium car often costs more than restoring all four. Restoration also keeps your original, correctly specified wheels on the car — important for ride quality and resale — and a properly prepared finish protects the alloy against corrosion for years. The only time we steer drivers away from restoration is when a wheel is cracked or structurally deformed beyond a safe repair, in which case replacement is the responsible choice.
