Moving to the Valencia region or the Costa Blanca is wonderful — until you scrape an alloy on one of the city's tram tracks or a tight underground car park ramp. If your Spanish is still a work in progress, sorting out something as specific as wheel repair can feel daunting. It needn't be. This guide walks English-speaking drivers through exactly how alloy wheel repair works here, what it costs, and what to expect, so you can get your wheels sorted without the language barrier getting in the way.

Yes, we speak English

The Wheel Lab is a specialist wheel restoration workshop in Alaquàs, just outside Valencia city. We deal with English-speaking customers all the time, and the easiest way to start is on WhatsApp: send us a few photos of the damage and a quick message, and we will reply in English with an honest assessment and a price — usually within a few hours. No phone calls in a second language, no awkward in-person explanations needed to get a quote.

What can actually be repaired

Most alloy damage is repairable, and far more cheaply than buying a replacement. The common jobs we handle for expat drivers are:

  • Kerb rash and scuffs — the scraping along the rim lip and spokes from brushing a kerb. The most common job by far.
  • Bent rims from potholes — straightened on a hydraulic press and checked with a dial gauge.
  • Cracks — repaired by TIG welding where it is safe to do so (and we will tell you honestly when it is not).
  • Corrosion and lacquer peel — common on older or coastal cars, fully refinished.
  • Diamond cut refinishing — restoring that bright machined face on premium Audi, BMW, Mercedes and Range Rover wheels. We run the only CNC diamond-cutting lathe in the Valencia area.

Real prices, in euros

We believe in clear pricing. These are our standard starting prices per wheel:

ServiceFrom (per wheel)
Kerb damage / scuff repair€85
Wheel straightening (bent rim)€80
Painting (single colour)€100
Diamond cut refinish€115
Full restoration€150
Mount & balance (per wheel)€15

These are guide prices — the final figure depends on wheel size, the alloy and how bad the damage is. You always get a fixed written quote before any work starts. The assessment itself is free and carries no obligation.

Which areas do you cover?

Our workshop is in Alaquàs, and we are easy to reach from across the metropolitan area — Valencia city, Torrent, Quart de Poblet, Manises, Paterna, Mislata and the surrounding towns. Drivers from further down the coast on the Costa Blanca and elsewhere in the Comunidad Valenciana come to us too, often for specialist work like diamond cut that is hard to find locally. If you are outside the area and want to know whether it is worth the trip or sending the wheels, just ask — we will give you a straight answer.

How the process works, step by step

  1. Send photos on WhatsApp. Damage close-up, the full wheel face, and the size if you know it.
  2. Get an honest estimate in English, usually the same day.
  3. Bring the car or the wheels in — we strip and assess, then confirm a fixed written quote.
  4. We do the work — a cosmetic refinish is typically three to five working days; structural work can take a little longer.
  5. Collect your wheels looking like new, backed by a 12-month guarantee.

A few things expats often ask

You do not need a Spanish driving licence or residency to use us — anyone can bring a car in. Damage purely cosmetic to the alloy does not affect your ITV (the Spanish MOT), but a structurally compromised wheel is a safety issue, which is exactly why we assess every wheel properly before deciding whether to repair it. And no, you do not need perfect Spanish — that is rather the point of this guide.

Frequently asked questions

Do you speak English at The Wheel Lab?

Yes. The easiest way to get started is to message us on WhatsApp with photos — we reply in English, usually within a few hours, with an honest assessment and a price.

How much does it cost to repair a kerbed alloy in Valencia?

Kerb damage repair starts at €85 per wheel. The price only rises if the gouge is unusually deep or the finish is complex, such as diamond cut. You get a fixed quote before any work begins.

I'm on the Costa Blanca — is it worth coming to Valencia?

For specialist work like diamond cut, often yes, since the equipment is hard to find locally. For a simple repair it may not be worth the drive. Message us and we will tell you honestly, including whether sending the wheels makes sense.

Is a repaired wheel safe?

We carry out a free structural assessment on every wheel before any work and will not return a wheel that is not safe at motorway speed. Every repair is backed by a 12-month guarantee.
