Whether your wheels have simply faded with age or you fancy a completely different look for your car, painting is the most versatile way to refresh a set of alloys. At The Wheel Lab in Alaquàs we apply liquid paint in a dedicated spray booth — the same approach used on a car body — which gives a smooth, even, factory-grade finish in virtually any colour you can name. Want anthracite grey, satin black, a deep gloss, or a colour matched to your bodywork? We can do it.

Painting is also the natural finish for many repairs. Once a kerbed or corroded wheel has been stripped and put right, a fresh coat of paint brings the whole set back to a consistent, as-new appearance. And because you choose the colour, it is the easiest way to give a car a noticeable lift without spending on a whole new set of wheels.

Liquid Paint in a Spray Booth — Not Powder Coating

It is worth being clear about how we paint, because not all wheel finishes are the same. We use liquid paint applied in a controlled spray booth, not powder coating. The two are often confused, but they are different processes with different results.

Liquid paint is sprayed in fine, even layers and gives a smoother, more refined surface with far better colour accuracy and a wider colour range — including precise RAL shades and body-matched colours. It also lets us build up a base colour and a separate protective lacquer for depth and durability. Powder coating, by contrast, is baked on at high temperature and tends to leave a heavier, more textured finish with a more limited palette. For premium alloys where appearance matters, liquid paint in a booth is the finish we trust.

Painting & Colour Change Options

Full Colour Change

Switch your wheels to any colour — gloss black, anthracite, bronze, white, or a bespoke RAL shade. Stripped to bare metal and refinished.

Original Colour Refresh

Faded or tired wheels brought back to their original colour and finish, ideal for an older car that deserves a tidy-up.

Gloss or Satin

Choose the sheen that suits your car — a deep high-gloss, an understated satin, or a flat matte effect.

RAL Colour Matching

Precise colour from the RAL range, or matched to your bodywork for a tasteful colour-coded look.

Two-Tone Finishes

Contrasting faces and recesses, or accent details, for a distinctive look that still feels factory-quality.

Repair & Repaint

Kerb damage or corrosion put right first, then the whole set repainted to a uniform, consistent finish.

Thinking of a colour change? A colour change is a great way to transform the look of your car, but it is worth choosing carefully — a colour that looks striking on a screen can look different in daylight on your bodywork. Send us your car details on WhatsApp and we are happy to talk through options before you commit. There is no charge for the advice.

How We Paint Your Wheels

From Bare Metal to a Flawless Finish

Every wheel goes through the same careful sequence.

1

Strip

The old finish is removed completely so the new paint bonds to clean, bare aluminium.

2

Repair & Prep

Any kerb damage or corrosion is repaired, then the surface is smoothed and primed.

3

Base Coat

Your chosen colour is sprayed in even layers in the booth for full, uniform coverage.

4

Lacquer

A protective clear coat is applied over the colour for depth, gloss and durability.

5

Cure

The finish is properly cured so it is hard-wearing and ready for the road.

6

Final Check

Inspected for an even, flawless finish and covered by our 12-month guarantee.

A Booth Finish, Backed by a Guarantee

Spraying wheels in a dedicated booth keeps dust and contamination out of the wet paint, which is what gives a clean, even, professional finish without runs or orange peel. It is the difference between a job that looks good for a season and one that lasts.

Every painted set leaves The Wheel Lab with a 12-month guarantee against finish defects, and because we have our own CNC lathe, we can combine painting with diamond-cut work on the same set where a wheel design calls for it.
