Our Warranty —
12-Month Guarantee
Every restoration we carry out is backed by a written 12-month warranty. If the finish we applied fails due to a defect in our workmanship, we will rectify it at no cost to you. That is not a marketing claim — it is a commitment we put in writing.
What the 12-Month Warranty Covers
The warranty runs for twelve months from the date of collection or delivery of your restored wheels. It applies to all paid restoration work completed at our Alaquàs workshop, including diamond cut, robotic painting, colour changes and lacquer applications. The following defects are covered without qualification:
Lacquer Failure and Delamination
If the protective lacquer applied by The Wheel Lab begins to lift, peel, blister or separate from the substrate within 12 months, this is covered. Lacquer failure of this type is caused by incorrect adhesion preparation, insufficient film build or contamination during application — all factors within our control. We will strip, re-prepare and re-lacquer the affected wheels at no charge.
Robotic Painting Defects
Bubbling, pinholing, orange peel texture that was not specified, or outgassing craters appearing in the cured coating are defects originating in our process. If these appear within 12 months on a wheel we coated, the warranty applies. We will strip and re-coat the affected wheel or wheels.
Colour Inconsistency
All four wheels in a set must match. If a visible colour difference between wheels in the same set becomes apparent within 12 months and the wheels are used under normal conditions, we will investigate and correct the inconsistency. The same applies to a finish that differs materially from the agreed colour swatch or sample.
Diamond Cut Lacquer Yellowing
The lacquer we apply over machined diamond cut faces is a UV-stabilised two-stage system. If premature yellowing or UV degradation of the lacquer occurs within 12 months under normal usage, this is covered. Normal usage excludes parking for extended periods in direct unshielded sunlight without tyre dressing protection, which accelerates UV exposure beyond the design conditions of the coating.
What Is Not Covered
Our warranty covers defects in our workmanship. It does not cover damage caused by circumstances after the wheels left our workshop. The following are not covered:
Physical Damage After Collection
Kerb strikes, pothole impacts, scrapes, scratches, chips from road debris, or any damage caused by contact after the wheels have been collected or delivered. Our finish is durable but it is not impact-proof — no finish is.
Improper Cleaning Products
Use of acid-based wheel cleaners, solvent-based products, or automatic car washes with abrasive brushes on freshly finished wheels will void the warranty. We recommend pH-neutral wheel cleaner and a soft brush. We provide care instructions on collection.
Damage from Incorrect Tyre Fitting Elsewhere
If tyres are fitted after collection by a third party using conventional (non-touchless) equipment, and this results in marks or chips to the rim, those marks are not covered by our warranty. We recommend using touchless-equipped garages for any subsequent tyre changes.
Corrosion Following Physical Damage
If a chip or physical impact breaks through the coating and the exposed aluminium begins to corrode, this corrosion is not covered. The root cause is the physical damage, not the coating. Prompt spot-repair of chips prevents this.
How to Make a Warranty Claim
The process is straightforward. We aim to assess all warranty claims within 48 business hours and to carry out approved remedial work promptly. We do not have a bureaucratic claims process — we simply ask that you follow these steps so we have the information needed to assess the defect correctly.
- Contact Us on WhatsApp Send photographs of the defect via WhatsApp to +34 614 918 360. Include the date of your original restoration job if you have it. Clear photos in good natural light work best — avoid flash, which flattens the appearance of finish defects.
- We Assess the Defect We will review the photos and cross-reference with our job records. Where the defect appears to fall within the warranty terms, we will confirm this in writing via WhatsApp or email, usually within 48 business hours.
- Bring in the Wheels We will book the wheels in for a physical inspection. Warranty work is given priority scheduling. For clients outside Valencia who used our shipping service, we will arrange a return courier at our expense for confirmed warranty defects.
- Remedial Work Once confirmed as a workmanship defect, the affected wheels are stripped, re-prepared and refinished to the same specification as the original job. No charge is made for labour, materials or return shipping on approved warranty claims.
